First things first. The Fall Series Vogue Skins are out now. As usual, there are four different makeup styles in the set. All four focus on neutral or warm tones perfect for fall. The defining feature of these new makeups is the new glowing cheeks. More than just blush, contouring or highlighting, these skins have a whole new "fresh faced" appearance. Like the healthy glow you'd get after a brisk walk in the cool fall air.
Fall - 1 has a warm metallic lip and neutral toned eyes with a dramatic lower liner and a touch of shimmery highlight.
Fall - 2 has a truly matte finish on the lips. The first I think
I've ever done, as I normally prefer some gloss or sheen to the lips,
but the matte look works well in the fall. The tone of the lips mods
beautifully with the lipstick color sliders, offering a natural looking
range of brown and pinks.

Fall - 3 has a slightly warm, slightly glossy lip with a shimmery nude eye and an unexpected splash of green rimming the lower lashes.

Fall - 4 has pale sexy lips in a rich creamy finish, glowing cheeks and light shimmery eyes with a smoky liner. This is probably my favorite of the collection, such a fresh look that works with so many different outfits.

Please be careful when purchasing. Double check that you are buying the skin tone that you want, and when purchasing demos, be sure it's priced at L$1 and is indeed a demo before accepting the transaction. The only exception to this rule is a duplicate purchase of the same item. Please contact me via IM or notecard with the name and date(s) of the skin that was purchased twice. If you buy a skin and it is not delivered, or disappears when you relog, please let me know and I'll be happy to replace it for you. Send me a notecard with your name, the name of the item(s), and the date of purchase and I will send your replacement as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours. Alternately, you can paste the appropriate line from your transaction history.
Wrong price bounty hunting-
One final note: I repriced hundreds and hundreds of boxes. I was very careful to price them all correctly, but there is always a chance that I missed a box, or priced something incorrectly. If you find a box with the wrong price, please let me know! The first person to report incorrect pricing will receive the contents of the box for free. Hopefully this won't be necessary, but knowing me, I probably screwed up at least one. ;)
That is all. Sorry for the long winded post, I'm just very excited about the new skins and the big sale. Happy shopping!

Starley, no one's work can even compare to the beauty of your skins. (And I think I've tried most of the others.)
Thank you for making me beautiful!

Admit it, this is a plot to make sure I own ALL of your skins, instead of just *most* of them. :-p
And, Heidi, I couldn't have said it better myself...

So I guess the wrong price bounty hunting is put into place just so people will go look at your skins but when they actually find the wrong priced box, you don't really honor your word.
I notified you SEVERAL times & didn't get a response. It would have been nice to get something from you....if not the promised skins, then a IM stating that you got the info & someone else had already told you.

No, Arya, actually it was put into place so I could correct boxes that I may have missed when repricing. As I mentioned in the post above, I have been receiving a lot of blank notecards, one of which was from you. Unfortunately, being blank on receipt, I didn't know what it was supposed to say.
Another resident contacted me again via IM to notify me of the discrepancy. She too had sent me a blank notecard, which she said was supposed to carry the information. All I have to go on is the email I received with the inventory offer of "New Note" and a time stamp. Hers was the first I received, so I sure did honor my word and send her the skins as promised. And for the record, this is the only message I got from you. I got ONE not several.
From my email:

Graciana McMillan has offered you 'New Note' in Second Life. Log in to accept or decline the offer.

I'm sure if you message Graciana she would confirm I was true to my word. I'm sorry you weren't notified personally, but you certainly could have messaged me again in SL to inquire, rather than come to my blog and call me a liar.
Posted by: Starley | October 06, 2007 at 03:13 PM
I DID IM you...more than once. I sent you a (blank) note card. (thank you SL) You could have IM'd me & let me know that it was blank so I could have told you what it said even if it was pointless by then....
I didn't call you a liar.
I don't care if you didn't give me the skins..it's the fact that you ignore your customers (yeah, we're all busy) but it concerns me when I buy things from you & GOD FORBID, I have an issue with it & contact you through note card or IM & get....nothing....back from you.
It's just polite to respond to your customers...even if the note is blank.
That's all I'm trying to say....
Posted by: Arya McLeod | October 07, 2007 at 02:09 PM
I don't ignore my customers. I respond to all inquiries that I get. I guess that's the sticking point. I have to actually GET a question before I can answer it. I know SL often blows at this task, and it's just as frustrating for me as it is for my customers. I would LOVE to go any length of time confident in the fact that I'm getting every message directed at me, but it just hasn't been that way for a long time. I'm no happier about it than you are.
The only things I ignore are test IMs and spam notecards. The IMs that just say "." or "are you online?" or "ping". The reason I didn't write back to every blank notecard I got over the weekend of the sale, was because while some of them were legitimate, most were probably solicitations. I figured if something was important, it would be asked again.
In hindsight, with the bounty hunting going on, maybe that wasn't the best choice, but I'd already honored the agreement with the person it applied to and there was no need to scour through my in box contacting each author of "New Note" and search for a "winner".
And sorry, but yes, accusing me of making up the bounty hunting as some sort of ploy to get people into my store and then not honoring my word and is the equivalent of calling me a liar which I don't particularly appreciate. I thought the bounty hunting would be a fun thing that would help both me & shoppers. I will think twice before making this kind of deal with customers in the future. I could have just as easily said "thank you" and fixed the prices on the box as someone was sure to notify me either way.

I went to CS to find amazing prices on skins that I already love! I do read the blog here, and the mispriced offer did make me think..Wow...but it's not why I went to shop at Starley's. In fact I bought many a skin that day and actually only noticed the mispriced skins because I wanted them. I sent the notecard and then hoped that maybe I'd hear back from her that the price was fixed so I could buy the skins at the 50% off price. When I read the blog and saw that Starley had notecard issues I im'd her asking if I could still get the 50% price..and she was more than gracious and looked in her log and told me from all that she could tell I was the 1st to let her know about 2 boxes that were mispriced. She was curtious and gracious and more than helpful.
I guess what I'm trying to say following all that blabbing..is that Starley is probably much busier than I, gets a lot more IM's and notecards than I even want. I'm sure her IM's cap..and so when I read the blog..it made sense...Nothing is perfect...not even SL ;)
So for the record, Starley did honor her offer...any other ?'s just IM me ;)
